Good afternoon! I just wanted you to have a heads up regarding pick up this evening. To protect our students, buses, and parent's vehicles we are making some modifications.
6th grade parents will still pickup in the front. We need you to please circle the east parking lot to line up behind the buses. You will not be able to turn left.
7th and 8th car riders we will still bring your students to the parking lot. Your only change is you must drive in front of the school and use the west exit. The east exit will now become an entrance only during school hours.
We will have an officer assist us the next couple of days to help us acclimate.
Thanks you!!
Mr. Gray

The McDonald County Schools team kicked off the school year in style today! 🥳 Teachers started the day with a hearty breakfast and uplifting conversations, cheered on by the MC Pom Team, cheerleaders, student athletes, and the spirited marching band. 🎶
New teachers and staff were warmly welcomed into the McDonald County School family, and everyone was inspired to reflect on what makes them smile. 😄
With just two days left to prepare, teachers are getting ready to fill their classrooms with those smiles.
The first day of classes for students is Monday, August 19th—let's make this year one to remember! 📚✨

The next 2 days we will be MAP Testing our 6th through 8th grade students. We are excited for our students to showcase their academic best! All testing will be online, so we need all students to CHARGE THEIR CHROME BOOKS TONIGHT when they head to bed. Also, we ask that they bring their charger with them tomorrow.
Please encourage your students to eat breakfast either at home or at school tomorrow. We will have snacks and water for every student during testing sessions.
Finally, please note that no cellphones or smart watch usage will be allowed during testing sessions. If you need to get a message to your student please call us at 417-845-1805.
Have a blessed evening and thank you for supporting the Redbirds!
Mr. Gray
Good Afternoon! We wanted to inform you about vaccinations for current 7th graders going into 8th grade next year. Please ask your student if they received a letter from our school nurse stating that they will need 8th grade shots and they will need their vaccinations before school starts. It is a state law that all students entering 8th grade must have their vaccinations before starting school. If they have already received their 8th grade shots, please send in a copy with your student to verify with our nurse. Once turned in we will be able to mark them off our list as compliant. If there are any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact the school at 417-845-1805

Good afternoon! I would like to share our new morning drop-off plan for AMS. I will also send out an audio message around 5:00 p.m. The east side of our building has been fenced off, as the have began preparations for our storm shelter and classroom addition. To keep all our students safe we are implementing the following plan beginning tomorrow, April 24.
Morning drop-off will now move to the front of the school. Our resource officer has placed signage and cones creating to lanes. We will have cars enter on the right lane next to the sidewalk.. Buses will enter the left lane and drop students at a designated crosswalk at the front door. As we exit down the hill there is a merge lane marked with cones. Be mindful these two lanes are condensing down to one as we exit onto Mustang lane.
Our evening procedures will remain unchanged. Our 6th grade will continue being picked up in front of the school. Our 7th and 8th will continue being picked up in the east parking lot.
Thank you for keeping our students safe!
Mr. Gray
Happy Monday! Today, at 1:40p.m., we will take our students out to view the Eclipse. We have purchased glasses for every student and have them assigned in groups to be monitored by our staff. Students are NOT REQUIRED to participate. If you do not want your child to attend the viewing, please call us at 417-845-1805.
Have a great day Redbird Family!
