Good afternoon, Mustang Nation! We've had some families ask about the difference between an AMI day and a traditional snow day so we will post that information here again. If you have additional questions about AMI make-up work or other school-specific topics, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher(s) or school principal. Missouri legislators passed Section 171.033, RSMo which permits schools to implement AMI for up to 36 hours during emergency school closures rather than make up missed hours with a calendar amendment. We exhausted those 36 hours with our five AMI school cancelation days (12/14, 2/8, 2/9, 2/10, 2/11) because the McDonald County school day is 6.25 hours. Therefore, all emergency closures beyond those 5 days are traditional cancelation days and are required to be made up with a calendar amendment. Our School Board will amend our calendar to determine which days will be attendance days. As soon as those days are determined, we will update the school calendar on our District website as well as share via social media. Stay warm and stay safe, Mustangs!
