Let’s get back to school!
All schools in the McDonald County School District will be back to in-person learning tomorrow, Wednesday, January 19.
We appreciate your patience as we have attempted to break this cycle of sickness in our staff and students.
Can't wait to see our students tomorrow at school and in class!

The number of absences of staff and students due to sickness is continuing to be an issue in the McDonald County School District.
Therefore, we will be canceling in-person learning for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18.
This will once again be an AMI - or Alternative Method of Instruction - day.
Teachers will be in contact with students to let them know their AMI instructions for the day.
We are hoping this extra day, along with having the past few days off, will help alleviate the sickness cycle.
At this time we plan to return to class at regular times on Wednesday, January 19th.

January 17 is National Elementary School Teacher Day!
We want to give a shout-out to the elementary teachers in the McDonald County School District!
Elementary teachers typically work with students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade.
Our elementary teachers do a fantastic job of providing top-quality education to our students.
If you see an elementary teacher today, tell them “thank you” for making a difference in every child, every day, whatever it takes!

Just a quick reminder:
McDonald County Schools will be closed Monday, January 17 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We'll see our students and staff back in school Tuesday, January 18.

Due to a rising number of our staff and students being out of school because of sickness, the McDonald County School District will not be in session on Friday, January 14.
This will be an AMI (virtual learning) day for students. They will have instructions on how to access the online learning platforms from their teachers.
We are considering this a wellness day, and our custodial staff will be on-site cleaning and sanitizing the buildings across the district.
We appreciate your understanding of this situation.
Since school will be out on Monday, January 17 for Martin Luther King Jr Day, students and staff will report back to school during regular times on Tuesday, January 18.

As of today, Tuesday, January 11, our staff and student COVID positive numbers are not at the point to cancel classes in the McDonald County School District.
Of course, we are closely monitoring the situation and if classes were to be canceled, we may need to use AMI (virtual learning) days in the event of closure.
We appreciate our dedicated staff and substitute teachers and all they are doing to keep students in classes during this challenging time.
We will keep parents, staff, and students informed if conditions warrant a change.
