McDonald County School District families and friends... This week, several schools around the area have been impacted by an increasing number of hoax reports of active shooter incidents. We want to assure everyone that we are aware of the incidents and we take all threats seriously until proven otherwise. If we receive such a threat, our plans include rapid communication of accurate information. We will use our schoolโ€™s mass notification system to send out updates via phone and text messages to parents and staff along with posting to our districtโ€™s social media pages and our website at www.mcdonaldr1.net. The McDonald County School District will always remain vigilant regardless of false reports, and will also pursue any potential prosecution regarding those who seek to disrupt school by making a false threat. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

๐ŸŒจโ„๏ธ No snow? No problem! ๐Ÿ‘ Even before this weekโ€™s snow, the students at Southwest City Early Childhood classes got creative with their winter learning! ๐Ÿ“š The students used shaving cream โ˜๏ธ to create a snowy sensory experience on their tables and practiced writing their names, shapes, numbers, and letters in the "snow." Besides being a lot of fun, the activity: โ„๏ธ Provides a unique sensory experience for the students, allowing them to explore and experiment with writing in a different way. โ„๏ธ Helps improve their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. โ„๏ธ Can be a good way for students to practice writing in a fun, low-pressure environment before moving on to more traditional writing tools such as pencils and pens. โž• Bonus: no cold hands or noses! ๐Ÿ‘ƒ๐Ÿฅถ Just another way McDonald County Schools are making a difference in every child, every day, whatever it takes! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค #EarlyChildhoodEducation #CreativeLearning ๐Ÿ“ #SensoryLearning ๐Ÿง’ #SouthwestCityEarlyChildhood #LearningThroughPlay #NoSnowNoProblem #McDonaldCountySchools #MCR1 #WeR1
