๐Ÿฅง Happy Pi Day and Einstein's Birthday! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿ’ซ Did you know that Mrs. Scates' Jr. High Math class at Pineville Elementary celebrated this special day with moon pies ๐ŸŒ™, oatmeal cream pies ๐Ÿช, Pi-rate hats and eye patches โ˜ ๏ธ, and even created amazing cityscapes using the first 25 digits of pi! ๐Ÿ™๏ธ๐Ÿค“ ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿงข๐ŸŒƒ๐Ÿ™๏ธ ๐Ÿง But what is Pi and why do we celebrate it? Pi is the mathematical constant representing the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) every year because the first three digits of pi are 3.14 and to honor this mathematical concept and the achievements of Albert Einstein, who was born on the same day. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽˆ Pi Day is a fun way to celebrate the beauty of math and science and to recognize the important role they play in our lives. ๐Ÿงฎ ๐Ÿ”ข ๐Ÿ“š We are thrilled to see our students engaging in fun and creative activities while also learning about important mathematical concepts. Keep up the great work, Mrs. Scates' class! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅง๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿช๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽ“

Put your hats on!! Parents and friends... We're partnering with the McDonald County Sheriff's Department to help those in need this Christmas Season. ๐ŸŽ„ The Department's The Shop with a Hero program is raising money to buy Christmas gifts for children whose families may not be able to provide them this year. They have a goal of helping 200 families. Please help us raise money for this wonderful program by letting your student wear a hat ๐Ÿงข to school with a $1 donation on Wednesday, December 1st. This applies to all schools and all campuses. Let's show how much we care for every child, every day, whatever it takes this Holiday Season! ๐Ÿ’• ๐Ÿคฒ

We Want to Hear from You! As McDonald County Schools plan for the 2020-2021 school year, we would like your feedback on learning options that would work best for your family. Options might include seated instruction (face-to-face at school site) or virtual instruction (6 hours a day, at home, with teacher support available). Typical grading would occur with both seated and virtual instruction. Your responses will allow us to make decisions for the upcoming school year that best meets the learning needs of your child while also prioritizing their health. For families with multiple children who will be attending McDonald County Schools in August, please complete a separate survey, using this same link for EACH child in your household. https://forms.gle/jT2CWiJvMwcNzvqVA
