McDonald County Schools had an opportunity this week to share some of the district's recent successes and progress with members of the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce.
Curriculum and Federal Programs Director Jeff Patterson spoke to Chamber members, highlighting several areas where the district continues to make investments in its schools and students.
Among those improvements are safe rooms now available at every school building, along with new facilities and other improvements designed to provide students and staff with safe, modern learning environments.
But the biggest story, Patterson said, is the academic progress being made across McDonald County Schools.
The district is currently being recognized among the top 10 school districts in Missouri for academic growth, a significant accomplishment that reflects the hard work of students, teachers and staff.
Patterson also shared findings from the St. Louis University PRiME Center, which consistently ranks McDonald County among the top rural school districts in Missouri when it comes to student performance and growth.
The accomplishments were met with applause from Chamber members, who recognized the significance of the district's academic success.
Strong schools are an important part of a strong community. Academic success can help attract families, support a quality workforce and contribute to the overall economic health of McDonald County. By sharing these accomplishments with local business and community leaders, McDonald County Schools is working to make sure the story of its students and staff reaches the entire community.
"We have a great story to tell," Patterson said in his presentation, highlighting the progress taking place throughout McDonald County Schools.
