Every Child, Every Day, Whatever It Takes!
The Parking Lot Parade will begin on Walnut St. in front of the Special Services building.
Update on Meal Services and Summer School
Meals: if you are taking advantage of the meal program - it will end on 20 May, which is the last day of school. It will restart on 1 June and run through the month of June. The hope is that there will be two different Summer Schools: one will be a virtual (on-line) that will run in early June. A second, face-to-face regular Summer School might start at the end of June and run through July. As we get closer and things are decided on with specifics, we will share that with you.
Picking Up Your Child's Belongings
AES Families- If you would like to pick up your student's belongings we will have a drive-thru pick up service available May 13th thru the 15th.
Wednesday, May 13th 7:30am-4:30pm
Thursday, May 14th 7:30am-6:00pm
Friday, May 15th 7:30am-4:30pm
Please pull up to the front of the school using the car rider lanes and remain in your car. We will follow the same procedure that we use in our food pick up line. We will greet you, bring out your students belongings and place them on the cart. At that time, you can exit your car and pick up their belongings from the cart.
If you would like for us to keep your students' belongings at school until he or she returns for summer school in July or regular classes in the fall, we are happy to do that.
Library books may be returned during this time as well or you may return them when we come back in the fall.
AES has a message for you, Redbirds!

Update on Preschool and Kindergarten Screenings
Activities at Home Begin Monday, April 6
This information explains the outline of our plan to continue instruction in our school district while we are out of school. This plan will begin next week. There will be a link posted on this Facebook Page, Twitter and our website www.mcdonaldr1.net. The link will be available Monday morning. When you click that link it will take you to the lessons your students are asked to complete. In grades PK-6 the lessons will be posted on that link. In grades 7-12 lessons will be posted to the teacher's Google Classroom site. Instructions for accessing the lessons for all grade levels will be available by clicking the link. The outline of the plan and guidelines for learning are posted below. Please let us know what questions you have and how we can better serve you during this difficult time.
Please see the latest update from Dr. Mark Stanton about the school closure. Also, watch the district Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or website for more information coming that will explain our district plan to continue education in the county. We do not want to stress families in this tough time, so we will start next week with some fun challenges and recommended reading. Teachers will be reaching out to families with more details. The following week (Week of April 6th- 10th) we will begin the instructional plan in full. More information will be posted on that plan early next week.
FYI: Here are some fact sheets about Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) provided by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in both English and Spanish.
Our School has the honor of serving another afternoon meal to the students before they are sent home in the afternoon. The Meal is FREE for EVERY STUDENT in McDonald County school district. Students will eat just before they board the bus or are released as car riders and walkers. All Activity bus riders will eat at the school that they practice at.
This may change the times that the bus drops your child off at home. Buses could be running 15 to 20 minutes later than their previous drop-off times. This new arrival time continue for the entire school year!
